I have decided each week to trim down the rankings until we get to Selection Sunday, December 4th, so this week will be the top 12 teams in the country. So without further ado, here is the new edition of the Top 12, with some changes, courtesy of Mississippi State.
These Tigers are showing why they deserve to be the #1 team in the nation, with the offense rolling and the defense gelling.
- Ohio State
A huge surprise on Saturday, as Ohio State blew out the Cornhuskers 62-3. J.T. Barrett looked like a Heisman candidate as the Buckeyes won big over a Top 10 opponent.
Lamar Jackson went over 1,000 yards rushing Saturday in Boston, passing for 231 yards and 4 TDs and rushing for 185 yards and 3 TDs. As long as Jackson continues this pace, Louisville has a great shot to crash the CFP party.
Jabrill Peppers has played almost every position except on the O-line and D-line plus Wilton Speight is much more than a game manager, averaging 245.8 yards per game throwing to Jehu Chesson, Amara Darboh and Jake Butt.
The offense sputtered yesterday in Death Valley, but Alabama pulled one out in the fourth quarter to win 10-0 over LSU. The streak of 10 consecutive games with a non-offensive TD was broken Saturday, but Bama is on the fast track to the SEC Championship.
